About

The faith formation of children is a mission, with a high priority, at St. Aloysius parish.  For decades the clergy, sisters and parishioners have volunteered their time to teach Jersey City children the Catholic faith and to prepare them to celebrate the sacraments.  Children learn the importance of service to God, as well as the importance of sharing their talents with those in need.

Our Religious Education program provides classes for children from first grade through the 8th grade.  Each week our 21 catechists minister to over 200 children. Our program runs from September to May and we offer 3 sessions per week.  Children can attend one of the two sessions held on Sunday mornings or attend the session offered on Tuesday afternoons.  All classes are held in the St. Aloysius Elementary Academy building, located at 721 West Side Avenue, Jersey City.

If you would like more information about the St. Aloysius Religious Education program, please feel free to contact rectory office at
